Satellite XT

5-axis CNC machining centre with moving gantry structure. Designed for milling, drilling, thread cutting and cutting on bars or large workpieces of aluminium, PVC, light alloys in general and steel. The high power (15 kW in S1) electrically-driven spindle with HSK-63F tool holder allows machining operations, including heavy-duty work, with optimum results in terms of speed and accuracy.

The 16-place tool magazine is installed behind the moving gantry structure, the 500 mm blade is housed separately in a specific blade magazine. The machine can be used in double mode so as to minimize machine downtime, as it is possible to change the workpiece (load/unload) in “concealed” time. The dynamic double operation version can improve further on this feature, positioning the vices independently from the portal movements. It is also possible to machine different workpieces between the two work areas. The gantry is provided with a guard which, besides protecting the operator, also reduces the noise impact on the environment.

Dimensional profile measurer

The machine can be optionally equipped with an electronic device that automatically corrects workpiece dimensional errors in length, width and height. In this way, the accuracy of the machine is not influenced by the differences between theoretic and actual workpiece dimensions during machining. This device accurately probes the rough workpiece in several positions, correcting the machining along its whole length, even with deformed or warped profiles.

The industrial label printer allows each cut profile to be identified with identifying features from the cutting list. In addition, barcode printing enables easy identification of the profile itself, which is particularly useful for subsequent machining steps on Machining Centres or assisted assembly lines.

Blade
The 500 mm blade equipment is housed in a dedicated magazine system. It is equipped with HSK-63F toolholder and can work by exploiting the 5 interpolated axes of the electric head to section the workpiece. By means of a suitable optional software, it allows cutting and separation directly from the unmachined bar. A milling disc with a diameter of 180 mm can be housed in the toolholder magazine. This tool allows, thanks to maximum speed, safety and accuracy, performing compound cuts, straight cuts, end milling and trimming operations.

Tool magazine
The tool magazine is large and quick and is installed directly on the machine's carriage. Its lateral position, together with an exclusive housing, guarantees maximum protection of the toolholder cones from swarfs and accidental knocks. The standard magazine is able to contain up to 16 toolholders, which can be configured at the operator's discretion.
Vices
The vice unit is able to ensure correct and safe blocking of aluminium, PVC, steel and light alloy profiles in large dimensions. Each unit slides on linear guides on machine surface. The positioning in static double operation mode models is managed via X axis. The dynamic double operation models are equipped with a positioning system with centralised motorisation, which allows the vices to move independently from the carriage and allows positioning in concurrent operation time. Counterblocks can be mounted quickly and accurately making the machine extremely versatile. The vice unit is available optionally in double hold-down device version to machine two profiles in parallel.

Cut and separation

The optional cutting and separation function directly from the bar, allows a series of machined profiles to be obtained from one bar and then finally separated into individual elements, avoiding the need to put short cuts that have been previously cut into machining. The wide capacity of the blade cutting unit allows separation cuts to be run on large dimensioned profiles, indeed in most cases eliminating the entire machining phase, which is usually carried out upstream by the cutting-off machine. In this case, the machine can be equipped with a label printer, to manage the tracking of profiles in subsequent phases.
